Paul Montwill

Paul set up Magico over ten years ago with the goal of creating a business that attracted experienced and highly qualified people who enjoy working on challenging and cutting edge projects. As well as being Managing Director, Paul’s chief role in Magico is Technical Architect on all Magico solutions and has over 20 years of experience in computers, since he started writing computer games for UK software companies at the age of 14.
He graduated with a BCOMM degree from UCD, and a Masters in Management Science from Smurfit Business School, of which he got first class honours in both and 4 scholarships. Following on from this, he worked for 6 years with Accenture, where he acted in a lead developer role and specialised in Microsoft development products.
Clients and projects Paul has been involved with, during his time in Accenture and subsequently, include Tesco.com, Andersen Consulting DotCom Launch Centre, Qantas Airlines and Spectra Photo.
Paul has enjoyed traveling around the world and working with many people from different experiences, backgrounds and cultures. He has settled down in Clare where he enjoys the outdoor activities, especially surfing, and is now a proud father of 5 children.

Paul joins Magico from Cash's Mail Order where as e-Commerce Marketing Manager he helped to significantly grow online sales from the North American market. For over three years he had a "hands on" role in running a busy Online Store. He was responsible for online product merchandising, email marketing campaigns, affiliate marketing, interactive catalogue and e-commerce strategies.
Since 1995 Paul has advised both national and international clients (Royal Mail, Ediets Europe, Anotherfriend.com, Royal & Sun Alliance) on how to get the most from the Internet. Between 1991 and 1994 he worked in marketing positions in Dusseldorf, Germany with a business-to-business magazine publishing house. While at Pira International, a UK based electronic publishing consultancy, he authored a pan-European management study entitled "Corporate Web Strategies in Europe". At Webfactory in Dublin he advised among others VHI, Sherry Fitzgerald, Slendertone and Careersworld. Relocating to Limerick Paul joined BDO Simpson Xavier where he acted as eBusiness Advisor to the Lynch Hotel Group, SPS International and Stockbyte.
Paul graduated from University of Limerick with an honours degree in European Studies in 1991. He has since taken courses in Strategy (MBA), Digital Marketing and Project Management. In 2002 he returned to UL to research the impact of the "E-Service Profit Chain" on online shopping journey at the AIB Centre for Information & Knowledge Management.
Paul enjoys spending time with his young family, travelling, playing chess and reading biographies. He hopes one day to revisit Malawi where he spent his first four years.
